I make to you a lifelong commitment...

Introduction
[Priest clears center of space with broom]

[Priest] I brush away disharmonious influences, making a space for what we will create here today.

[Priest hands Groom the broom, Groom sweeps perimeter of circle, returns to original space, hands back the broom to Priest.]

[Groom] Here, as in life, I make this space to protect you, provide for you a warm home, and make a place for us to share.

[Priest hands Bride basket, Bride spreads herb flower mixture around perimeter of circle, then returns to original space, hands back the basket]

[Bride] I will make in this space a home to comfort you. I will nurture you, and bring you romantic fulfillment. Invoking Spirit-

[Priest] We meet here, in this grove, beneath these ancient trees, to join these two in marriage. We ask these ancient spirits to witness and bless this union. I now invite those attending as witness to join me in this circle.

[All witnesses (save Allegra and Debbie) enter the circle and stand within]

Meeting
[Allegra takes the groom's hand and then the bride's and walks toward the altar, drawing them into the circle]

[Allegra] Let's get you married!

[Allegra then returns to Debbie on the perimeter with the other witnesses.]

What you're getting yourselves into...
[Priest] In marriage, you will face many new challenges. In time, you will learn new sides to your partner.

You will face change and conflict, lack and abundance, disillusionment and painful clairity.

For your marriage to prosper, you will need to bring a commitment to mutual growth and support.

You will need to hold onto your respect, trust and reverence for one another.

For this effort, you will reap a place of rejuvenation and companionship(a space from which to face life's obstacles together.

Keeping all this in mind, are you now ready to pledge to one another, witnessed by your community and those spirits here gathered?

[Groom] Yes

[Bride] Yes

Vows
[Priest takes the two scrolls from altar and hands them one to each, Groom unfurls scroll first and reads, followed by Bride. Both read the following:]

[Groom/Bride] I make to you a lifelong commitment: to love you, to accept you as yourself, and to support you in your path in this life.

I pledge to communicate honestly and openly, to act from love and integrity, and not from anger.

I will hold you foremost in my heart for the time our paths are joined.

[Priest returns scrolls to altar]

Rings
[Priest] These rings symbolize the unity and bonding that these two pledge here today.

[Maragaret comes forward with the ring box and opens it. Bride and Groom both select each others rings and place them on one another's fingers, Maragaret returns to position]

[Groom] This ring symbolizes my heart, which I give now to you freely.

[Bride] This ring symbolizes my heart, which I give now to you freely.

Goblets
[Priest] These goblets contain grape juice, [Priest takes goblets from altar] which in one form or another has been used for thousands of years to symbolize life force, that which animates and connect us all.

[Priest places a goblet in each of the couple's hands]

[Priest] Drink now to share your hearts, minds and bodies.

[Couple drinks]

[Priest] As a marriage is a part of a greater community, the community joins us now in its creation(joining by witnessing. We ask you now to drink as well.

[Couple turns backs to each other and passes the goblets to each witness in turn to drink from, returning to the original place of start and then returning to the altar to rejoin the goblets together as one]

Closing
[Priest] Having today given these vows before the witnesses of the spirits invoked, the community here present, and most importantly before one another...

And having given these vows consciously, considering carefully the trials as well as the joys ahead of you... And finally, having exchanged the symbolic wine and the lasting symbol of your commitments in the form of these rings...

Therefore, I call forth the blessings of all things, luck for what lies ahead, and the support of your families and community...

And I do hereby recognize you now and hereafter as joined in the bond of marriage.

You may now kiss the bride.

[Couple kisses]

Witnesses here assembled, I present the married couple, William Dewsbury And Rachel Young.

Spirits that have joined us in this space, we thank you for your presence, go if you must, stay if you will. Hail and farewell.

I declare this circle opened, and bid all merry meet, and merry part, and merry meet again.
